Recap: Joc Pederson Homers in 4-2 Loss to Arizona

The Dodgers have made it to a mere 1 game behind the San Francisco Giants! Unfortunately, the Giants beat the Nationals on Saturday so the Dodgers need a win in order to not make it 2 games! Scott Kazmir got the start for the boys in blue and of course Yasiel Puig was still absent from the starting lineup.

Let’s take a look at the highlights!

The Diamondbacks got off to a quick start by getting 1 on the board in the top of the first.

They would come back in the top of the 2nd to add 2 more, making their lead 3-0.

In the bottom of the third, Corey Seager would hit his 29th double of the season!

After that, Kazmir would settle in nicely until the top of the 7th…

In the top of the 7th, Kazmir would be replaced with Baez, who would hit a batter and then give up an RBI single.

The Dodgers would finally get on the board in the bottom of the 7th thanks to a speedy Toles and an RBI single by Scott Van Slyke!

In the top of the 9th, Andrew Toles would attempt to track down a ball but would instead track down the wall! He would cut his lip but would stay in the game.

Joc Pederson would come up in the top of the 9th with 2 outs and hit a solo shot to make the lead 4-2! Unfortunately, the Dodgers could not make another come back and would fall to Arizona 4-2.

The Dodgers will finish the series off on Sunday at 1:10 PM PST with Bud Norris on the mound! Be sure to follow us on Twitter at @DodgersNation to get the play by play! Go Blue!
