Recap: Justin Turner Notches 23rd Homer of the Season in 5-4 Loss vs. Phillies | VIDEO
Pitcher Ross Stripling (3-4) took the mound for the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday for series finale against Philadelphia. In the finale, Stripling held the Phillies to 2 earned runs on 6 hits during his outing.
The Dodgers started the final game of the series right off in the top of the 1st inning with back-to-back base hits by Utley and Seager. With nobody out, our red hot No. 3 batter, Justin Turner, stepped up to the plate and hit his 23rd HR of the season, a 3-run bomb to put the Boys in Blue up 3-0.

In the bottom of the second, with one out and a runner on first, Stripling got Jimmy Paredes to hit the perfect double play ball right to Utley. But instead of getting the double play and getting out of the inning, Utley made an uncharacteristic error trying to get the force out at second. The Phillies capitalized on the error and pushed one run across before Stripling retired the side.
Chase Utley's backhand flip to start an inning-ending double play went about 10 feet wide of Corey Seager.

The score was 3-1 in the Dodgers favor before Yaz hit his 20th HR on the year, a solo shot to right field off the scoreboard. Grandal has been unstoppable at the plate lately, making that his 14th HR since the end of June.

Ryan Howard hit a solo shot of his own in the bottom of the fourth to get things going for the Phillies. With two outs, Aaron Altherr hit a base hit to right before Taylor Featherston hit his first double of the years, scoring Altherr from first, cutting the Dodgers lead to one, making the score 4-3.
The Dodgers maintained the lead until the bottom of the 7th inning after Maikel Franco hit a 2-run HR, giving the Phillies the advantage, 5-4.
Maikel Franco hits a 2-run home run in the seventh and the #Dodgers now trail 5-4, heading to the eighth.
