Shohei Ohtani Superman Trailer | Dodgers Nation Parody

Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani has always been seen as Superman thanks to his absurd baseball feats over the course of his career, but this latest parody video really has Ohtani looking like he belongs in his own comic book series.

The Superman Trailer parody from Dodgers Nation includes depictions of Shohei Ohtani’s wife, Mamiko, San Diego Padres closer Robert Suarez, and if you look closely towards the end, an appearance from a superstar teammate.

Ohtani began his superhero-esque dominance over the baseball world in 2013, when he started playing professionally in Japan. He raised eyebrows with his ability to not only hit, but also made 18 appearances as a pitcher during his rookie season.

After a few seasons of doing something the baseball world hasn’t seen in over a century, Ohtani made his way to MLB, signing with the Los Angeles Angels ahead of the 2018 season. He threw a 3.01 ERA across five seasons pitching in Anaheim, including finishing as high as fourth in Cy Young award voting. He also won a pair of American League MVP awards during his six seasons with the Halos.

Ahead of the 2024 campaign, Ohtani became a member of the Dodgers, inking a 10-year, $700 million mega deal. He somehow exceeded all of his sky-high expectations in his first year, despite being sidelined from pitching due to his second Tommy John procedure the previous September.

Ohtani not only won his third MVP award and became the first player in MLB history to collect 50 or more home runs and 50 or more stolen bases in the same season, but he also helped secure the eighth World Series championship in franchise history in a jam-packed first season in L.A.

The Dodgers have many stars on their roster and have had countless Hall of Famers throughout the years, but perhaps no other player is closer to a superhero than Ohtani.
