Shohei Ohtani Talks About Why He Chose Dodgers in Free Agency
You aren’t dreaming Dodgers fans, Shohei Ohtani is a member of the team. He was formally introduced on Thursday in front of a media frenzy, much to the delight of the entire fanbase.
It was the first time that Ohtani had spoken with the media since August, so nobody knew what to expect. But it was great to hear from the newest member of the Dodgers and learn a little more about him, including his dog’s name.
Ohtani opened up about why he ultimately picked the Dodgers this offseason, saying that their previous winning was one of the main reasons. We all knew this, but it was still nice to hear it come from Ohtani himself.
The Dodgers have made the playoffs for 11 straight years but only have one World Series ring to show for it. Ohtani understands that this team gives him a legitimate chance to win each season that he is with the team.
The Dodgers and Ohtani just checked a ton of boxes together, and they fit very well. It’s a mutually beneficial pairing and one that should yield a lot of positive results for the duration of their tenure together.
The two sides are putting a lot of faith in one another, so each has their part to play. But Ohtani seems up to the challenge of being the face of the Dodgers’ organization and helping them win titles.
This is a historic day for the Dodgers organization and a day that many fans have been waiting for. Ohtani is officially a member of the Dodgers, and we can’t wait for it all to get started at spring training in a few months.
