Spring Training Preview: Brett Anderson To Make Third Start

After a disappointing loss in Wednesday’s game to the Chicago Cubs, the Los Angeles Dodgers will now take on the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim for the first time this spring at Camelback Ranch.
The Dodgers enter the game 8-3-5, while the Angels are 7-7 and coming off two consecutive wins, including an 11-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
Making his third start of the spring is left-handed pitcher Brett Anderson, who has been nothing short of impressive to this point (0 ER in 5.0 IP).
Over the duration of his career, Anderson has posted respectable numbers against the Angels, including a 3.76 ERA and 1.14 WHIP in 52.2 innings pitched.
Scheduled to succeed him will be Chris Hatcher, Yimi Garcia, and Joel Peralta. Anderson’s counterpart, Andrew Heaney, is one of the game’s top pitching propsects, whom was acquired from the Dodgers in exchange for Howie Kendrick during the winter meetings.
Heaney, 23, has never faced the Dodgers before but has a career 5.83 ERA and 1.33 WHIP in just 29.1 innings pitched. On an interesting note, the Dodgers still have seven more games against the Angels this spring even after today’s contest.
