JD Martinez is an American professional baseball outfielder and designated hitter for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He was born on August 21, 1987, in Miami, Florida, and was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 36th round of the 2006 MLB June Amateur Draft from Charles W. Flanagan HS.
Martinez has played for several teams during his career including the Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Boston Red Sox. He is known for his exceptional hitting ability, with a career batting average of .300 and over 300 home runs. He has been named an All-Star several times and has won several Silver Slugger Awards for his exceptional hitting.
