Nick Young Not Pleased With Dodgers Trading Matt Kemp (VIDEO)

Heading into the offseason, the Los Angeles Dodgers were expected to trade at least one outfielder with Carl Crawford and Andre Ethier the likely candidates. However, it was Matt Kemp who was drawing considerable trade interest, which wasn’t much of a surprise given how he finished the 2014 season.

The level of interest in Kemp resulted in the Dodgers trading the outfielder, along with Tim Federowicz to the San Diego Padres in a deal that as of Friday morning, was not yet finalized.

The trade drew the ire of Los Angeles Lakers small forward Nick Young, who said after practice on Thursday him and Kemp were essentially one in the same and a comparable move would be the Lakers trading him.

Kemp’s tenure with the Dodgers’ organization comes to an end after 11 years and he’ll join a new team for the first time in his career. Although Young has bounced around the NBA, he’s a Southern California native who grew up rooting for the Lakers.

Since joining the Lakers, Young’s infectious personality and relationship with rapper Iggy Azalea have kept him in headlines. When Magic Johnson said the Lakers should lose every game of the season, Young jokingly said Johnson should remain at Dodger Stadium.

Young’s comments regarding the Kemp trade were overshadowed as much of the focus was on Kobe Bryant’s trash talking as he returned to the practice court after sitting out several sessions for rest.
