The Dodgers Host 15th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Giveaway with Joc Pederson and More
On Thursday at Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers Foundation, along with Smart & Final teamed up to giveaway a complimentary turkey (or vegetarian alternative), fixings, and a reusable canvas bag to 1,500 pre-selected families and not-for-profit community organizations. The community organization would then, in turn, distribute them to more families in need.

Moreover, the foundation got some help from a few familiar Dodgers faces. Outfielders Joc Pederson and Kyle Garlick were in attendance to assist in distributing the items, as well as snap some selfies with happy fans. Dodger alumni Dennis Powell and Kenny Landreaux also chipped in with the fans.
Additionally, Smart & Final upped the ante by including two “Golden Turkeys” which, when found, entitled the luck recipient to an additional $500 gift card to Smart & Final stores. One of the lucky winners Sabrina Thomas and her son were overwhelmed with the moment.
“It’s amazing! I’m greatful,” Thomas said.
On the event, Garlick and Pederson were grateful to be able to give back.
Said Joc:
It’s an awesome event. Giving back to the community, putting some food on the tables — some turkeys for some families to enjoy with loved ones that aren’t as fortunate as we are.
Of course with Thanksgiving coming up, the question was asked — “what’s your favorite Thanksgiving side dish?”
“Stuffing, probably? You can’t go wrong,” Joc replied.
All in all, the event in it’s 15th year went off without a hitch. Special thanks goes to the Dodgers and Smart & Final for continuing to help the Los Angeles community.
