Tweets Of The Night: Dodgers Advance To NLCS, Juan Uribe Plays Hero
The Dodgers beat the Braves 13-6 in Game 3 of the NLDS and while Hyun-Jin Ryu didn’t perform well in his postseason debut, the Dodgers’ offense exploded for 13 runs and Chris Capuano came in and pitched 3 scoreless innings.
Up until this morning, Ricky Nolasco was said to be the starter for tonight’s Game 4, but the Dodgers surprised everyone when they announced Clayton Kershaw would get the start. Kershaw was dominant in Game 1 and was looking to send the Dodgers to their first NLCS since 2009. Kershaw had never made a start on three days rest, but the Dodgers were trying to avoid a Game 5 in Atlanta.
The Braves had Freddy Garcia on the mound tonight and the one-time power pitcher made his return to the playoffs since losing a game in the 2011 ALDS with the Yankees. Garcia spent most of the season in the minor leagues and is no longer the pitcher he used to be. This season he went 4-7 with a 4.37 ERA and had a sub-2.00 ERA in six appearances with the Braves this season.
The lineups once again remained the same as it has been all series. Here are the tweets of the night.
