Video: Dodgers’ Hire Magician To Teach Juan Uribe Hidden Ball Trick

Dodgers third baseman Juan Uribe has been a pleasant surprise this season after two empty years, but fell victim to the hidden ball trick last weekend against the Rays.

So far this season, Uribe is hitting .265 with six home runs and 35 RBIs and has also kept things loose in the Dodgers clubhouse all season long.

In a play out of little league, the Rays infield got the ball to third baseman Evan Longoria and he tagged Uribe out while his foot was slightly off the base.

Obviously confused by the situation, Uribe and others didn’t realize what was going on, but after the game, Kenley Jansen and Dodger teammates presented him with a cleat on the base.

To ensure that he would be able to do the trick himself or not fall for it again, Jerry Hairston Jr. and magician Jason Latimer helped him for the future:

  1. Actually that wasn’t the true hidden ball trick. That was just Uribe and the third base coach not keeping their eye on the game and the other team throwing the ball around. Go Dodger Blue!
