VIDEO: Vin Scully Talks About The Dodgers Reaching 10,000 Wins
In their 124 years of existence, the Los Angeles Dodgers have been recognized for their remarkable accomplishments and rich history since their entrance into the National League in 1890. With the then Brooklyn Bridegrooms earning their first victory on April 21, 1890 with a 7-6 win against the Boston Red Sox, the win column would only expand from there.
More recently, on April 30, 2014, the Dodgers defeated the the Minnesota Twins 6-4, earning their 10,000th victory in franchise history. The win featured Zack Greinke’s fifth win of the season and Yasiel Puig going 2-4 with an RBI.
The iconic images of Jackie Robinson breaking the color barrier and Kirk Gibson smashing a 3-2 fastball over the right field fence in the 1988 World Series against the Oakland Athletics shaped the Dodgers into what they are today: a cherished squad by all of baseball.
From the “Go-Go Dodgers” of the 60s, to the “Boys of Summer”, listen to Dodger voice and legend Vin Scully talk about one of the most treasured franchises of all time.
