Video: Vin Scully Talks To Michael Kay About Yankees-Dodgers Rivalry

With the Yankees in town for a short two-game series, it marked another great time for the two historic baseball organizations to reminisce about the history between the two.

Prior to the Dodgers moving to Los Angeles, the Yankees were the teams biggest rival as they’ve met in the World Series 11 times. Seeing Mariano Rivera for the last time in Dodger Stadium and possibly Derek Jeter, Dodgers broadcaster Vin Scully got very nostalgic.

Scully has announced every Dodgers game since 1950 and has plenty of stories to talk about the days in Brooklyn with the Yankees. While the Dodgers returned to Yankee Stadium this season, Scully didn’t accompany them, but that didn’t stop the love affair between the two teams.

Before tonight’s game, Scully spoke to Michael Kay from the YES Network about an array of things pertaining to the Yankees and Dodgers.

Here’s the entire interview of Vin talking to Kay:

  1. Hey there….. Been a Dodger and Vinny fan all my life, the two sort of go hand in hand.

One quick note — in your article, you mentioned that Vinny has “announced every Dodgers game since 1950”? That’s not technically correct, since he has taken a reduced schedule the last few years and doesn’t accompany the team on all road trips.

    Thanks for the post…..
