VIDEO: Yasiel Puig Hits Solo Home Run Vs. Atlanta Braves

The Los Angeles Dodgers entered Thursday’s game in position to earn a second consecutive series sweep and extended their winning streak to six games.

Clayton Kershaw was given an early lead behind Adrian Gonzalez’s RBI double in the first inning that scored Yasiel Puig from first base. With the Dodgers still leading 1-0, Puig took matters into his own hands in the third inning.

On a 1-2 slider from Julio Teheran, Puig hit a home run over the left-center field wall to give the Dodgers a 2-0 lead. The home run was Puig’s 13th of the season and first since July 4.

In the consecutive series the Dodgers have swept, the 23 year old is hitting .462 with 12 hits, four of which are triples, three doubles and three RBIs. Puig boasts an .319 batting average this season .319, which is good for second in the National League and sixth overall. His .552 slugging percentage ranks second in the NL and sixth in MLB.
