We couldn’t talk about the 2025 season without including future Hall of Fame starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, and his farewell tour will occupy the No. 8 spot on Dodgers Nation’s Top 10 Dodgers Highlights of 2025.
The Los Angeles Dodgers selected Kershaw out of Highland Park High School with the seventh overall pick in the 2006 draft, and he spent 18 seasons pitching for LA before retiring at the end of the 2025 season.
Kershaw announced his retirement from MLB Sept. 18, one day before what would be his last start at Dodger Stadium.

The left-hander made his final start in front of the home crowd against the San Francisco Giants on Sept. 19, and lasted 4.1 innings before leaving to a standing ovation. He allowed two runs in the outing, striking out six batters, and the Dodgers went on to win the game, 6-3.
His next appearance came out of the bullpen, a rare occurrence for the veteran. He entered a high-leverage situation against the Arizona Diamondbacks Sept. 24, posting a scoreless inning and helping the Dodgers to yet another win.
Kershaw made his final start as a Dodger against the Seattle Mariners on Sept. 28, and gave Dodger fans a final dominant outing to remember him by. He threw 5.1 scoreless innings in the outing, striking out seven on his way to a final win in Dodger blue.

He hadn’t finished his job just yet, though, as he remained with the Dodgers through the postseason. He made two appearances in the postseason, both of which came at Dodger Stadium out of the bullpen. Kershaw threw two innings in the Dodgers’ only loss against the Phillies in the NLDS, and came in for a final World Series appearance in a marathon Game 3.
Ultimately, the Dodgers won the World Series and added to the long list of accolades Kershaw had earned throughout his dominant career. He retired with three World Series Championships, an MVP award, three NL Cy Young awards, 11 All-Star selections and a Gold Glove.
