Los Angeles Dodgers fans aren’t holding back after Southern California native and Chicago Cub Pete Crow-Armstrong took a shot at them in a recent interview.
Crow-Armstrong graced the cover of Chicago magazine, which said he let “it all hang out” in a Wayne Drehs profile published on Monday.
When asked about his time playing in Chicago, he praised the fans, but he did so by characterizing Dodgers supporters as uninterested in baseball.
“I love Chicago more and more. It’s just an incredible city. The people are great,” he said. “They give a s—. They aren’t just baseball fans who go to the game like Dodgers fans to take pictures or whatever. They are paying attention. They care.”
Dodgers Fans Fire Back at PCA
On Reddit, Dodgers fans sounded off on Crow-Armstrong, contrasting his recent statements about the Boys in Blue with remarks by other stars.
For instance, Juan Soto said he plans to challenge Shohei Ohtani for the National League Most Valuable Player award, noting that “he better keep doing what he’s doing, because I’m coming.”
Fans like u/EggHeadMagic characterized Soto’s comments as “competitiveness,” adding that “PCA going after fans is just cowardly.”
“I love Juan when we’re not playing him but this PCA comment is so cringe. Hope the baseball gods give him what he deserves,” commented u/Spaghettibeach.
Others pointed out that, as a Sherman Oaks native and graduate of Harvard-Westlake School, PCA grew up surrounded by Dodgers fans.
“Shows his character. S—ing on your hometown for no reason. He’s trash,” said u/Rockitttla.
PCA Has Long Been a Cubs Fan
As detailed by Steve Henson of the Los Angeles Times, though, PCA was born into a Cubs family.
His father is an Illinois native and forbade his son from rooting for the Dodgers.
“Growing up in L.A., my dad gave me a couple of rules. 1) I couldn’t root for the Dodgers. 2) I couldn’t root for the Cardinals,” PCA wrote in The Players’ Tribune last year.
“He’s from Naperville, just outside Chicago. He didn’t force me to be a Cubs fan, but let’s just say it was heavily encouraged.”
Sounds like that lesson from dad stuck.

Prior to reading PCA’s rude and unwarranted comments, at one point I liked what he did on the diamond. NOT ANYMORE!! The cowardly *** attacks the fan base, using them as fodder to feed his ego. He can’t realistically attack the players, knowing that every one of the starting nine and remaining 31 fellas would use him to mop the floor. I sincerely hope he has a down year and remaining career.
