The Los Angeles Dodgers have a big week of games coming up, with the St. Louis Cardinals and Washington Nationals on deck, and there will be a star-studded lineup of celebrities throwing out the first pitch.
The last month of baseball is upon fans, and the final special nights and giveaways are coming to Dodger Stadium before the postseason.
Who is throwing out the first pitch for the Dodgers this week
Former Dodger fan favorite Chris Taylor is throwing out the first pitch of the Dodgers game against the St. Louis Cardinals on Wednesday, Sept. 2nd.
Taylor had a clutch home run during the 2021 Wild Card game against, funny enough, the Cardinals to send the Dodgers through to the NLDS.
That hit was just one of many that Taylor had with the Dodgers, a lot of them in the clutch, in what became a trademark addition for the team over the past two decades of baseball in LA.
On Thursday, Sept. 2nd, two new members of the Los Angeles Lakers, center Walker Kesllser and rookie Cameron Carr, will throw out the first pitches at Dodger Stadium for the Cardinals series finale.
Kessler was the big addition for the Lakers, bringing in a serious, rim-protecting big man who can offer a big target to the star guards in the pick-and-roll.
Thursday is “Lakers Night,” where those who buy a special event ticket can get a special Lakers shirt.
The shirt is a bowling-style button-up with both the Lakers and Dodgers logos on the front and special World Champions lettering on the back.
Just a month ago, this shirt would have meant a lot more for fans of both the Lakers and Dodgers, since they shared ownership and seemed to be moving in the same direction.
However, Dodgers owner Mark Walter sold the Lakers, so this collaboration will likely be rarer.
