Dodger Fans Most Optimistic of Among All MLB Fanbases

In a recent poll from The Athletic, Los Angeles Dodgers fans ranked as the most optimistic fanbase in MLB.

More than 11,000 fans participated in the poll—called the “Hope-O-Meter”—which gauges how hopeful fans are for the season, whether their goal is a successful rebuild or a World Series championship. 99.8% of Dodger fans who participated chose optimism over pessimism. Here are some of their messages:

“They’ve won back-to-back championships and signed Edwin Díaz and Kyle Tucker,” said a participant named Optimist Andy. “If you are pessimistic about this team, you need to find professional help for your anger issues.

More money than God, more resources than Jupiter, and a never-ending motivation to lengthen the window through free agency and player development,” wrote Optimist Dom.

“I don’t have hope. I have a guarantee,” Optimist M said. “We added Tucker and Díaz to an All-Star team. The rest of the league is out here stressing over rebuilds while we’re basically printing rings.”

With all the Dodgers have done this offseason to maintain their place at the top of the baseball world, it’s hard for fans not to be optimistic for the 2026 season.

The Dodgers went all out in free agency, signing two of MLB’s biggest stars to complement their All-Star-laden squad. Kyle Tucker signed a massive four-year, $240 million deal with the Dodgers to fix their hole in the outfield, and All-Star closer Edwin Diaz signed a three-year, $69 million deal with the team as well to address their bullpen struggles from 2025.

What Are the Dodgers’ Chances to win the World Series in 2026?

The Dodgers currently have the best odds to win the World Series in 2026, with FanGraphs giving them a 24.4% chance to win the Fall Classic this season.

Despite their sweep of the Arizona Diamondbacks in the opening series of the season, their odds have actually dropped from the 26.5% chance they had prior to the beginning of the season.

They’ve already taken a huge step towards winning the division, sitting two games ahead of the second-place San Diego Padres after just one series. They have a 95% chance to win the division and a 99% chance to reach the postseason.

Do you think Dodgers fans’ optimism is warranted?
