Dodgers’ Alex Vesia Announces His Daughter Passed Away Ahead of World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers left-handed pitcher Alex Vesia announced with his wife, Kayla, that their daughter passed away on Oct. 26. Her name was Sterling Sol Vesia.

“Our little angel we love you forever and you’re with us always,” the Vesias wrote on Instagram.

“Our beautiful daughter went to heaven Sunday October 26th. There are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”

The Dodgers announced before the World Series that Vesia would be away from the team due to a “deeply personal family matter.” Vesia thanked the Dodgers, Dodger fans, the Blue Jays organization and baseball fans everywhere for their support during this difficult time.

“Thank you to the Dodgers for their understanding and support during this time. Our baseball family showed up for us and we wouldn’t be able to do this without them,” the Vesias continued.

“Thank you Dodger Nation, Blue Jays organization and all baseball fans for your love and support. We have seen ALL your messages, comments and posts. It’s brought us so much comfort.

“Lastly, we’d like to thank Cedars Sinai and all the medical staff who helped Kayla and Sterling. Every person we came across was truly so incredible.”

  1. May God comfort the Vesia’s their baby girl is in a better place. Jeremiah 1:5 , & Psalm 139:16 God knew there daughter before he even formed her in the womb. May the Vesia’s know that God loved her like they did too.
