Dodgers Are Organization Where ‘Great Players Want to Be’ Says ESPN Insider
There is no denying the fact that the Los Angeles Dodgers have been extremely aggressive with their offseason approach.
For Buster Olney of ESPN, this winter has been the most aggressive offseason for a team that just won the World Series.
“Certainly since I’ve been covering baseball without a doubt,” Olney told Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain on Dodgers Dougout Live. “It has just felt like everyday brings news of another big signing by the Dodgers and it just goes and goes and goes.”
Because the Dodgers have been able to bring in star after star, Los Angeles has become a place where players want to sign.
“I think there are players who now gravitate towards the Dodgers as a place they want to be,” Olney added. “Right now the place where a lot of great players want to be is with the Dodgers.”

The goal for almost any baseball player is to win a World Series and right now, Olney thinks the Dodgers provide the best opportunity to win one.
“If you are a successful veteran, and you want a chance to win the World Series, what team gives you a better chance in this moment than the Dodgers?”
While the Dodgers may be the top team in baseball, there’s no certainty they’ll return to the World Series. That said, they’ve positioned themselves well to pursue back-to-back championships and could become the first MLB team since the 1998-00 New York Yankees to achieve this feat.
Friedman strengthened the starting rotation by adding two-time Cy Young winner Blake Snell and 23-year-old Japanese star Roki Sasaki. They’ll join Shohei Ohtani, Tony Gonsolin, and Dustin May, all of whom are returning from injury.
Los Angeles also re-signed All-Star outfielder Teoscar Hernández, brought in veteran outfielder Michael Conforto, and added Korean utility player Hyeseong Kim.
In the bullpen, Blake Treinen returned on a two-year deal, Tanner Scott signed a four-year contract, and once a spot opens on the 40-man roster, Kirby Yates will be officially added.
The Dodgers are building a successful and well-loved organization the right way, which can be frustrating for the rest of the baseball world. It has been impressive to watch unfold.
Other teams simply haven’t figured out the formula the Dodgers have mastered.
