Dodgers’ Bats Go Quiet in Loss to Guardians

Aside from Andy Pages, the Los Angeles Dodgers seem to have a problem at the plate.

In Wednesday night’s 4-1 loss to the Cleveland Guardians, the Boys in Blue did more than just lose a series. They showed the much-lauded lineup may not be the unstoppable offensive force many believed it to be.

Pages had three of the Dodgers’ five hits, and though Freddie Freeman hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth, superstars like Shohei Ohtani and Kyle Tucker were unable to help put runs on the board.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched six innings and gave up only two earned runs, though the lack of offense put the team in a poor position.

Over 90 pitches, Yamamoto allowed four hits, struck out two and walked one.

Will Klein, Tanner Scott and Blake Treinen all appeared in relief, though Scott allowed a two-run home run that gave one earned run each to himself and Klein.

What’s Next for the Dodgers?

The Dodgers (4-2) are off Thursday before facing the Washington Nationals starting Friday.

That series, being on the East Coast, starts early for those in Southern California. First pitch is set for just after 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

  1. All the whiney little pricks out in force already. Fake fans who only claim to be fans on days when everything goes their way. They act like the Dodgers should win every single game they play, and if they don’t, they throw their little fits. They are back to back World Series champs for a reason. October is what matters. If that is not good enough for you, please find something else to do with your time. True Dodger fans support the team 24/7 365. If you are incapable of doing that, get the hell out because we don’t need your constant complaining. The Dodgers are the best show in sports period, and if you do not have the mental clarity to understand that, that is your problem.
