Dodgers’ Brusdar Graterol Crosses Major Hurdle in Minor League Rehab Game

Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Brusdar Graterol continues to get closer to returning to the Dodgers after making another rehabilitation appearance Saturday. Graterol made his sixth total rehab appearance Saturday, and his fourth with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Saturday was the first time this year that Graterol pitched on back-to-back days.

During Saturday’s game, Graterol pitched one inning and struck out three batters while allowing zero earned runs. This was his most strikeouts in an appearance this season, and his fourth straight game without an earned run allowed. Through four Triple-A games this season, Graterol has five strikeouts and zero earned runs allowed.

Graterol is progressing from a sore shoulder that has caused him to miss the entire 2024 season so far. He is currently on the 60-day injured list, and a recent timeline suggested Graterol could be back with the Dodgers as soon as the end of July.

The 24-year-old right-hander is coming off his best season in 2023 when he pitched in 68 games and went 4-2 with a 1.20 ERA and seven saves. He has not had the opportunity to build off that season yet but looks to return soon.

Along with Graterol, the Dodgers are seeing progress from relievers Michael Grove and Ryan Brasier. Grove and Brasier have also made rehab game appearances over the last week. The Dodgers have already gotten Joe Kelly back from the IL this month and could have three more relievers returning to the team shortly.
