Dodgers Calling Up Bobby Miller to Start Wednesday’s Game vs Rockies

The Los Angeles Dodgers are calling up right-handed pitcher Bobby Miller to start Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies, manager Dave Roberts announced Tuesday.

Miller has been expected to start Wednesday’s game since Roberts announced that team would be bringing up a pitcher for this contest. Miller will now officially get to make his 2025 debut just a couple weeks into the season.

Miller, 26, was a candidate to earn a spot in the Dodgers’ Opening Day rotation. However, he took a line drive off his head in the first game of Cactus League play, and that setback essentially took him out of the running for the job.

Miller opened the season in Triple-A, where he’s made two starts and three appearances, sporting a 2.25 ERA across 12 innings.

Now, he’ll get the opportunity to make a strong impression at the big league level after he suffered a massive sophomore slump.

Miller burst onto the scene in 2023, going 11-4 with a 3.76 ERA across 124.1 innings pitched and 22 starts. However, in 2024, he went 2-4 with an 8.52 ERA across 56 innings.

The Dodgers need one of their young pitchers to stand out in the rotation with Blake Snell currently on the injured list. If Miller has a strong start on Wednesday, he could earn himself at least one more start at the big league level.
