Dodgers Catcher Provides More Information on Bobby Miller After Scary Incident

Los Angeles Dodgers catcher Hunter Feduccia provided more information on starting pitcher Bobby Miller’s scary injury in the Cactus League opener Thursday afternoon.

Miller was hit by a 106 mph line drive in the third inning of the matchup against the Chicago Cubs at Camelback Ranch. Miller fell to the ground, but was able to get up by his own power.

Feduccia gave a huge update, saying Miller “seemed responsive” following the incident and answered all the trainers questions accurately. Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy also shared Miller appeared to be okay, which is huge for a player that was struck by a 106 mph line drive.

The 25-year-old right-hander has endured his fair share of trials and tribulations last season.

Miller was optioned to the minors in July. His worst start of the season came against the Philadelphia Phillies, when he allowed nine runs over four innings.

Nevertheless, Miller told Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain he is eager to compete for the No. 5 starting spot in the rotation. The confirmed starters include Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow, Blake Snell, and Roki Sasaki. Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May will also compete for the final spot in the rotation.

Manager Dave Roberts is expected to give an update on Miller following the conclusion of the Cactus League Opener. The Dodgers are currently trailing the Cubs 12-3.
