Dodgers Cut 7 More Players From Spring Roster as Japan Trip Nears
The Los Angeles Dodgers made several roster moves Friday, cutting seven players from major league camp.
According to a post on X, the Dodgers reassigned left-handed pitchers Jackson Ferris, Joe Jacques and Jose E. Hernández and right-handed pitchers Sam Carlos, Jared Karros, Jack Little and Jose Rodriguez to minor league camp.
Ferris was acquired from Chicago last year as part of the trade that sent Michael Busch to the Cubs. As the No. 4 prospect in the organization, Ferris finished last season in Double-A, where he posted a 2.54 ERA across seven starts.
Ferris was the Minor League Pitcher of the Year for the Dodgers last season and had high expectations as a non-roster invite to major league camp. He allowed two earned runs on three hits and struck out six in three innings of work.
Jacques has appeared in the majors over the past two seasons with the Red Sox and Diamondbacks. In 2024, he split time between both teams, making three appearances. Across 25 career games and 29.2 innings, he has posted a 5.46 ERA and 4.90 FIP, recording 22 strikeouts and 11 walks.
Jacques appeared in five Cactus League games this spring, allowing one earned run on two hits across five innings. He converted his only save opportunity.

Hernández allowed five earned runs on four hits including two home runs in five innings of Cactus League work.
Karros, who is a Dodgers legacy, allowed just one hit, no earned runs, and three strikeouts in four innings. His father, Eric Karros, spent parts of 12 seasons playing for Los Angeles.
Carlson appeared in five games this spring, allowing one earned run on six hits across six innings. He also walked four and struck out six.
Little struggled this spring, posting a 10.13 ERA over three appearances. In 2.2 innings, he gave up four hits and three runs while recording three strikeouts.

Rodriguez went 1-0 and only allowed one earned run on four hits across 4.1 innings. He recorded one save, walked one and struck out seven in five games.
