Dodgers’ Dave Roberts Provides Major Update on Bobby Miller After Scary Injury

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Bobby Miller arrived to camp Friday with a headache, per manager Dave Roberts. Miller was hit by a comebacker at 105.5 mph in the Dodgers’ Cactus League opener, but was able to exit the game under his own power in the top of the third inning.

Miller is currently in concussion protocol; however, the 25-year-old is in good spirits as he joked with Roberts that he’s “got a hard head.” The Dodgers will continue to monitor him, but Roberts said the team is hopeful he can start throwing again soon.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out,” Miller wrote on X Thursday night. “Really means a lot. Scary moment I’m good! All praise to the man above can’t wait to get back on the mound.”

Miller is one of three starting pitchers competing for the final spot in the Dodgers’ rotation. Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May are also competing to be the No. 5 starter. The scary incident has definitely put Miller’s efforts in the race on pause, but for how long remains unclear.

The good news is Miller was able to avoid a catastrophic injury, and can focus on returning to the mound and making an impact for the Dodgers in 2025.
