The baseball season is nigh, and for some Los Angeles Dodgers players, the biggest question of all remains unanswered: Will your walkup song change?
For some, like star first baseman Freddie Freeman, the answer to that question is no. He’s keeping his walkup song “Baila Conmigo.”
Same with two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani, who’s keeping last year’s song, Michael Bublé’s “Feeling Good.”
Before we knew Ohtani was bringing Bublé back for another season, Dodgers Nation’s Nelson Espinal investigated other possible options, and that got us thinking: What would our walkup songs be?
We each got to pick two, though some people provided a few honorable mentions as well.
Our answers are below, and here’s a Spotify playlist with (most of) our selections. Let us know what picks you like and what songs we missed.

I picked “Fever” by Just Friends. That decision was made entirely for vibes. It has a summery feel, like a song for hot days, and I’ve always liked when players would have an indie band that I’ve never heard of for their walk up music.
And then I picked “Black Sheep” by Metric, but the Brie Larson version from the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. I like that the song starts off with the line “hello again,” which is kind of fitting when you’re making your plate appearances. It has a really punchy baseline that I like and I love that movie (and also Brie Larson in general).

- “You Dropped A Bomb On Me” by the Gap Band
- “Notorious Thugs” by the Notorious B.I.G. and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony
- “m.A.A.d City” by Kendrick Lamar, the part that goes “Yawk! Yawk! Yawk! Yawk!”
- Also anything NBA YoungBoy

First is “Shoota” by Playboi Carti ft. Lil Uzi Vert. I played this song before almost every basketball game once it dropped. It always gets me pumped and it’s great to play in a group setting
Second is “The Next Episode” by Dr. Dre. Classic song that always makes me think about good LA times and would get up everybody up and dancing at the stadium.

My first thought was Lana Del Rey, “Interlude – The Trio.” It looks like Brandon Eisert of the Chicago White Sox is the only player using it, which is a bit surprising. Don’t get me wrong, this will probably be the only Lana Del Rey song on the list, but it gets me going.
My second pick is a classic. “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC. I went to Alabama and that’s the football team’s walkout song. It’s electric.

Song 1 is the instrumental version of Enter Shikari’s “Sorry You’re Not a Winner.” It’s an extremely iconic song in my musical spheres.
Song 2 is “Careless Whisper” by George Michael. It’s been done in the MLB before and it’s awesome.

So many people, especially Dodgers, pick Kendrick songs, but I am going with a remix of one of his songs by Tyler, The Creator: “THAT GUY,” which uses the “hey now” beat. This verse fits the beat well and ends up being very LA, and proudly so.
My second choice is a song I cannot get out of my head: “Stateside + Zara Larsson” by Pinkpanthress. Pink Pantheress is such a good artist and Zara Larsson has a nice voice, plus the beat is nuts.

“Watermelon Sugar” because Harry sStyles always gets me ready to go and I feel like this is one of his best crowd pleasers.
“you should see me in a crown” by Billie Eilish because it makes me feel bad ass and she’s a Dodgers fan!

“Love Never Felt So Good” by Michael Jackson. This song always makes me super happy and ready for the day!
For my second choice, I would do “Stuff” by Lil Baby featuring Travis Scott because this song always makes me pumped. ????

First pick is “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2” by A$AP Rocky. I love the intro to this song and have always said it would be my walkup song.
Second is “MacArthur Park” by Donna Summer. I’ve had this on repeat since Alysa Liu’s gold medal performance. It makes me feel like I’m finishing a marathon even though I’ve never run one lol.
Robert Butler III | Livestream Producer
First is “tv off” by Kendrick Lamar (specifically the “it’s not enough” part).
Second is “Time of Our Lives” by Pitbull and Ne-Yo (specifically the “I knew my rent was gon’ be late about a week ago” part).
