Dodgers Notes: Evan Phillips Could Return, Gavin Stone Update, Corey Seager Reunion?

The Los Angeles Dodgers non-tendered veteran reliever Evan Phillips earlier in the week, as he is likely to miss 2026 as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Despite this, president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman revealed the Dodgers could bring the veteran back.

“We had a number of back and forth discussions with Evan and his agent,” Friedman said. “ It is challenging with him coming off surgery so he is going to take some time and look to sign after he throws off the mound when his rehab allows. Evan has been a big part of our past success and we will continue the conversation about bringing him back. We respect that he is taking this time to decide what is best for him and his family.”

Gavin Stone missed most of 2025 with a shoulder injury, and gave an update on his status. The right-hander stated he’s feeling good, and is likely to make his return in spring training.

Former Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager has spent the last several seasons on the Texas Rangers, but could leave via trade as the Rangers ship out their better players. The Dodgers are a top landing spot for plenty of top players in the offseason, and Seager isn’t any different.
