Dodgers Notes: Nolan Arenado Trade Update, Ex-LA Utility Man Signs, Jack Flaherty Rumors
All-Star third baseman Nolan Arenado is now unlikely to be traded this offseason. After reportedly declining a trade to the Astros, who then signed Christian Walker, there’s been little movement on other potential deals.
Former Dodgers utility player Cavan Biggio has signed a minor league deal with the Kansas City Royals, returning to the American League. Biggio played for three teams in 2024, including the Dodgers, before electing free agency in November after the Braves removed him from their 40-man roster. With the Dodgers, he appeared in 30 games, posting a .192/.306/.329 slash line, three home runs, 10 RBIs, 14 hits, and 11 runs in 88 plate appearances.
Jack Flaherty, who joined the Los Angeles Dodgers at the 2024 trade deadline and helped secure their eighth World Series title, is now likely to leave the team. With the Dodgers’ crowded pitching rotation for 2025, Flaherty is attracting interest from five MLB teams.
