The Los Angeles Dodgers lost 2-1 against the Milwaukee Brewers in Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday, October 11th.
The Dodgers are now down 1-0 in the series, with their first road game lost. The pitching did enough to win, but the offense came up short.
LA failed to cash in chances
The Dodgers went 1-for-6 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine different hitters on base.
They totaled seven hits and six walks, but despite the traffic, they couldn’t deliver the key hit or the slugging needed to create offense.

Teoscar Hernandez went 2-for-4, while Andy Pages drove in the Dodgers’ only run, scored by Shohei Ohtani, who drew a walk and went 1-for-4.
Kyle Tucker went 0-for-2 but drew two walks, putting together some of the team’s best at-bats.
The Dodgers had great at-bat quality overall, getting ace Jacob Misiorowski out in less than five innings on a high pitch count.
However, the Dodgers couldn’t deliver enough power with their short swings, and it cost them the game.
Dodgers pitching needed to be perfect
With the offense failing to execute, the pitching staff had to shut out the Brewers, but they didn’t. Tarik Skubal had four great innings and was essentially unhittable, until the fifth inning rocked him.
Skubal allowed a home run in the fourth, and the Brewers then put on a signature small-ball showcase in the fifth.

Garrett Mitchell drew a walk, Cooper Pratt laid down a sacrifice bunt to move Mitchell to second, and Luis Lara hit a clutch RBI single.
Other than that, the Dodgers’ pitchers did a great job shutting down the Brewers, but in a game of margins, it wasn’t enough, and the Dodgers fell short in one of the games they usually win.
