Dodgers’ Teoscar Hernandez Wants to Improve One Main Aspect Of His Game
The Los Angeles Dodgers brought back a fan favorite this winter by re-signing outfielder Teoscar Hernández.
Hernández had a stellar first season with the Dodgers in 2024. The outfielder recorded a .272 batting average with a career-high 33 home runs, 99 runs batted in, and 12 stolen bases. Hernández not only performed well, but he also connected with the crowd in a manner that endeared the Dodgers fan base.
Now that Hernández will be in Dodger blue for the next few seasons, the outfielder is already thinking about how he can improve next season.
“There’s always something to improve. Obviously, it’s about maintaining consistency and trying to save runs, whether it’s cutting off a ball or keeping runners from advancing,” Hernández told Grandes en los Deportes (the interview was translated from Spanish to English). “It’s about playing smart, making sure you don’t make any plays that cost us games. I haven’t had a direct conversation with them about what I need to improve. I know what I have to work on. I know what I have to do to maintain consistency and continue helping the team win. Ultimately, the goal is to get to the playoffs and win the World Series.”
Hernández was always candid about his desire to return to the Dodgers this offseason, and although he seemed like the most obvious free agent to return, there were some bumps in the road. As days turned into months, the Dodgers and Hernández reached a point of contention in contract negotiations.
But fans still held on to hope that Hernández would return, especially after his heartfelt address at the World Series parade.
“You guys made this dream come true. Thank you for making me a World Champion,” Hernández said through tears. “That’s how much I care, how much I appreciate everything that this organization, these fans have given to me. When I show that kind of emotion, that’s when I truly feel it. I’ve been blessed to be here.”
The Dodgers locked Hernández down on a three-year, $66 million deal just days after Christmas. It was the Christmas miracle fans had been waiting for.

The only other thing that Hernandez needs to work on his leaving the pitch away alone. He could cut down half his strike outs by doing that one thing, Of course its easier said than done. Irregardless, Teoscar will continue to be a great addition to the Dodgers and will now be motivated to earn a Gold Glove in addition to his Sliver Slugger…
Exactly.
