The Los Angeles Dodgers will visit the White House after all.
For months, speculation has swirled about the team’s traditional visit to the White House to celebrate the 2025 World Series win.
The obvious time to visit was when the Boys in Blue were in D.C. to face the Washington Nationals in April, but game times made scheduling a challenge.
During an upcoming trip to the East Coast, though, the team appears to have found the time, reports Edward Lewis of the California Post.
When will the Dodgers visit the White House?
The Boys in Blue are scheduled for a July 23 visit to the White House.
That is an off day between a three-game series with the Philadelphia Phillies and a three-game series with the New York Mets.
“President Trump is excited to welcome the Los Angeles Dodgers BACK to the White House to celebrate their World Series championship!” White House Assistant Press Secretary Taylor Rogers wrote on social media.
The team issued a statement on the visit, as reported by Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic.
“As was the case one year ago, the Dodgers’ upcoming visits to the White House and Capitol Hill follow the longtime tradition of visits by other World Series champions. We appreciate these tributes in recognition of our back-to-back championships.”
Will all Dodgers be going to the White House?
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said before the season that he will attend as a matter of tradition.
“I was raised — by a man who served our country for 30 years — to respect the highest office in our country. For me, it doesn’t matter who is in the office, I’m going to go to the White House. I’ve never tried to be political,” Roberts told the Los Angeles Times’ Bill Shaikin at DodgerFest. “For me, I am going to continue to try to do what tradition says and not try to make political statements, because I am not a politician.”

Recently retired Dodgers legend Clayton Kershaw has also sadi he will go.
“I went when President Biden was in office. I’m going to go when President Trump is in office,” Kershaw said, as reported by Shaikin. “To me, it’s just about getting to go to the White House. You don’t get that opportunity every day, so I’m excited to go.”
Being in Los Angeles, though, the Dodgers have faced a great deal of pushback from the community regarding Trump’s immigration raids.
ICE agents even tried to access Dodger Stadium this past June, though the Dodgers denied them.
That was the same day the team planned to make an announcement regarding the immigration raids.
After the incident, the Dodgers revealed their plan to donate $1 million to families affected by the raids.
Players like Kiké Hernández have also stood up for immigrants.
“I may not be Born & Raised, but this city adopted me as one of their own,” Hernández wrote on social media. “I am saddened and infuriated by what’s happening in our country and our city. Los Angeles and Dodger fans have welcomed me, supported me and shown me nothing but kindness and love. This is my second home. And I cannot stand to see our community being violated, profiled, abused and ripped apart. ALL people deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and human rights. #CityOfImmigrants.”
Do you think the Dodgers should visit the White House this year?
