Exactly six years ago, Feb. 4, 2020, the Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Mookie Betts and David Price via trade from the Boston Red Sox.
In exchange, the Red Sox received Alex Verdugo, Connor Wong and Jeter Downs.
Betts remains as a key part of the Dodgers’ team today, and ushered in a dominant period of Dodger baseball.

What Has Mookie Betts Done With the Dodgers?
Since Betts joined the Dodgers in 2020, he has won three World Series championships, made four All-Star appearances, won four Silver Sluggers and two Gold Gloves.
He has a .867 OPS with the Dodgers, and has hit 152 home runs with 443 RBIs during his time in L.A. He led MLB with 3.7 bWAR in the shortened 2020 season with the Dodgers, and has recorded 4.0 or more bWAR in every season since.
Betts also migrated from his favorite right field to meet the Dodgers’ needs, and has already proven himself an elite shortstop in the short time he’s played the position.
Despite not being from Los Angeles, Betts has made a huge impact on the community and constantly seeks to help out around the city.
What Happened to the Mookie Betts Trade Pieces?
Price came to L.A. with Betts, and managed a solid couple of seasons before retiring at the end of 2022. He opted out of the 2020 season, and had a 3.47 ERA through 79 appearances with the Dodgers over the next two years.
Verduo most recently played in MLB in 2025, though the Atlanta Braves released him in July 2025. He played four league-average seasons with the Red Sox before going to the New York Yankees, where he began a slow decline. He is still currently without a team.
Wong made his debut with the Red Sox in 2021 and is still with the team. In his five-year MLB career, Wong has a .680 OPS with 23 home runs and 103 RBIs.
Jeter Downs underperformed the most of the group, having only played 20 games in MLB from 2022-23. He last played in the minor leagues in 2024.
The Dodgers got a steal for Betts compared to what they gave up, and will hope Mookie sticks around for as long as possible as they continue to chase championships.
