Dodgers vs. Diamondbacks Lineup: Max Muncy Back, Ohtani Still in

The Los Angeles Dodgers are gearing up for the second game of a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, July 11th.

After a rest day on Friday, Max Muncy returns to the batting order. He has been getting banged up during the first half of the season, taking a good number of knocks, meaning the Dodgers will be careful to give him some rest.

Additionally, he is playing in the All-Star Game on Tuesday, so Muncy will not get a typical break.

Shohei Ohtani, who is managing a knee injury, was pulled from his start on Friday, but stayed in the batting order — he remains there on Saturday as expected.

Dodgers’ Lineup vs. Rockies

1. Shohei Ohtani, DH
2. Andy Pages, CF
3. Freddie Freeman, 1B
4. Mookie Betts, SS
5. Max Muncy, 3B
6. Kyle Tucker, RF
7. Teoscar Hernandez, LF
8. Dalton Rushing, C
9. Tommy Edman, 2B

The Dodgers are facing a righty in Brandon Pfaadt, meaning they are deploying their lefty lineup. Muncy, Freddie Freeman, and Shohei Ohtani should be the featured players, along with Kyle Tucker.

Andy Pages will be trying to keep his momentum going after a great night on Friday.

Pfaadt has moved between starters and relievers this year, and his 4.84 ERA explains why he has failed to hold down a role.

LA has the perfect chance to get back on track offensively after scoring two runs in the first and not another one until the ninth inning.

Who is pitching for the Dodgers?

The Dodgers, after a bullpen game, get their ace — Yoshinobu Yamamoto.

Yamamoto has been amazing since his command sharpened up over his last handful of starts. When he gets to painting and mixing things up, hitters are at his mercy.

He has a 2.49 ERA in 16 games and 104.2 innings.

The Arizona Diamondbacks took advantage of a Dodgers bullpen that was missing its spots, but unless something odd happens, they will not get that on Saturday.
