Dodgers, White Sox Have Spoken About Blockbuster Trade For Multiple Players: Report

The popcorn is popping and the Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly ready to bring a blockbuster trade to town.

According to USA Today baseball insider Bob Nightengale, the Dodgers “have spoken to the White Sox about a blockbuster that would include Crochet, center fielder Luis Robert, and perhaps reliever Michael Kopech, too.”

Crochet is in the middle of a breakout season on the south side of Chicago. He has reportedly been the Dodgers’ No. 1 trade deadline target for quite some time and the club really wants to bring him to Los Angeles.

report from ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez on Saturday said the Dodgers want him whether he is a starter or a reliever for the rest of the season. Through 20 starts he’s 6–6 with a 3.02 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 150 strikeouts against 23 walks in 107.1 innings. He leads all MLB pitchers in strikeouts and strikeouts per nine innings while playing for the league’s worst team.

Robert is having a disappointing season but a change of scenery could turn him around. The same goes for Kopech, who is 2-6 with a 5.05 ERA and nine saves (14 opportunities) in 41 games.

The White Sox are in the midst of a massive rebuild and trading these three players would bring a deeper return and would help jumpstart the farm system.

  1. Dodgers will miss James Outman in Center. NOONEi plays it better! Fan will too! It’s sad a few players aren’t hitting, but you send a player that gives 100% on the field back to AAA. Hang in there James we are rooting for you!
