Dodgers Will Call Up Starting Pitcher to Start Wednesday’s Game vs Rockies
The Los Angeles Dodgers need a starter for Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Rockies, but who that may be remains a mystery.

L.A. has a few options to call up, including right-handed pitchers Bobby Miller and Nick Frasso. Both Miller and Frasso are on the Dodgers’ 40-man roster. Left-hander Justin Wrobleski, who made a start for the Dodgers against the Washington Nationals last week, can’t be called up unless someone is placed on the injured list.
Frasso is currently 1-0 with a 2.57 ERA across seven innings pitched with Triple-A Oklahoma City. The right-hander has thrown five strikeouts so far this season.
Frasso was sidelined in 2024 as he rehabbed from a shoulder injury, but told Dodgers Nation’s Doug McKain he felt good at spring training.
“I think I’m back where I was, now it’s just like a matter of, I haven’t pitched in a game since ’23, so kind of just getting back in a rhythm of seeing a hitter in the box and getting comfortable with that again,” said Frasso.
“I feel good, I feel like I’m in a good spot.”
The Dodgers can also turn to Miller, who was one of three starting pitchers competing for the final spot in the rotation this spring. The right-hander’s efforts were sidelined after he was hit by a comebacker in the Dodgers’ Cactus League opener.
Nevertheless, there is speculation the Dodgers will call up Miller as he was pulled in Friday’s start for Oklahoma City after just 2.1 innings. The right-hander endured a trying 2024 season and making a strong start for the Dodgers this week would be a step toward bouncing back.
This spring, the 25-year-old revealed he felt his best entering camp.
“I’m feeling better than I have in any other spring training,” Miller said to Dodgers Nation at Camelback Ranch earlier this spring. “This, so far, has been my best spring and best offseason of any offseason I’ve had in pro ball so far.”
