Dustin May Wants 2025 World Series Ring in Los Angeles

Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Dustin May was part of the 2025 team that won the World Series for half the season before he was traded at the deadline, meaning he will get a ring for his contributions during the regular season.

May ended up getting dealt to the Boston Red Sox at the trade deadline after a season full of struggles with the Dodgers.

He put a 4.85 ERA in 104 innings pitched, worth -0.4 bWAR. May gave up the same number of hits — 97 — as he got strikeouts during the season, along with 43 walks to his name.

The former top prospect missed the entire 2024 season due to injury, but before then, he was one of the most exciting pitchers in the organization with promising stuff and a good deal of aggressiveness when pitching.

With the Red Sox, May’s performance did not improve, with a 5.40 ERA in 28.1 innings. He ended the season finishing well below replacement level and a shell of his former self.

In the aftermath of his departure for his sole baseball home, May landed with the St. Louis Cardinals on a one-year, $12.5 million deal with a mutual option for 2027.

The Dodgers, meanwhile, went on to win the 2025 World Series on the back of their stellar starting rotation, which covered up the bullpen’s problems.

However, due to his contributions, May is still owed a ring for the team’s title, and when speaking to Foul Territory, the red-haired righty made it clear that he wants to get it when he comes back to Los Angeles.

“I would like to get my World Series ring in Los Angeles,” May said.

The Dodgers’ return for May

In the deal of May to the Red Sox, the Dodgers got back James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard, two outfielders who have shone during Spring Training.

Both are quite close to making their major league debuts, potentially with an injury to Kyle Tucker or Teoscar Hernandez keeping them from breaking through, or even Andy Pages failing to carry his Spring Training momentum into the season.

Even after moving on from the Dodgers, Dustin May is still being more than helpful to the organization.
