Former Dodgers Pitcher Invests In Professional Soccer Team

Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher and current Washington Nationals starter Josiah Gray is getting involved with a new pitch in Washington D.C.

Gray is joining the ownership group of the DC Power Football Club (Power FC) in the USL Super League. The news was announced via press release on Thursday.

Gray joins DMV business leaders Janice “Jan” Adams, Devin Talbott, and Jordan Stuart, in partnership with D.C. United and other athletes and entertainment leaders including actress Crystal Renee Hayslett, Washington Capitals center Hendrix Lapierre, and WNBA star Angel Reese.

Gray is a rising star before missing the past month with a right forearm strain. He was chosen to play for the National League All-Star team in 2023, then was named the Nationals’ 2024 Opening Day starter. Overall the right-hander has made 72 starts for the Nationals since he was acquired from the Dodgers at the 2021 trade deadline.

In two appearances this season, Gray was 0-2 with a 14.04 ERA in 8.1 innings. This is his first stint on the injured list in his big league career.

Gray also made headlines on Monday when he announced on social media that he earned his bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne’s Madden College of Business and Economics. Gray left Le Moyne six years ago to launch his professional baseball career and graduated summa cum laude.

  1. I am concerned that MY FAVVVVORITE Team ( namely the Dodgers) have lost their MOJO. It is hard to watch them lately. What HAPPENED to the Fabulous Hitting and Pitching of the early part of May. Their RECENT Poor Pitching, coupled with their Meager Hitting has been DISASTROUS. It has been PAINFUL to watch them LOSE F-I-V-E GAMES in a ROW. I am shaking my HEAD in DISBELIEF!!! If I heard correctly, Losing Five in a Row is a “FEAT”, or is it a “DEFEAT”, that has NOT happened since either 2017, OR 2019. That is many Baseball Games ago, when the Dodgers did not have the SUPERIOR TALENT, that they currently have. I know Players and Teams experience SLUMPS. But, it seems like a some of their POWER-HOUSE Players, and their Highly Talented Pitchers, are “CRASHING” at the SAME Time. I am WORRIED!! I HOPE they FIND their RHYTHM and THEIR STRENGTH AGAIN,—AND,— VERY SOON! And, Please– It is NOT Dave Roberts’ Fault.
