The Los Angeles Dodgers have plenty of pitching heading into the 2026 season, and have a decision to make with former top prospect Bobby Miller.
Miller, 26, made his debut for the Dodgers in 2023 and had a solid first season in MLB, but has had trouble over the past two years. The right-hander had an 8.52 ERA through 13 starts during the 2024 season, as well as a 12.60 ERA through two appearances in 2025.
With his struggles as a starter at the MLB level, Miller transitioned into a bullpen role, but still struggled in the minors last season with a 5.66 ERA in 35 appearances.
“The Dodgers must sort out what to do with Miller, who they shifted into a bullpen role in the middle of last season,” Ardaya wrote. “That has included listening in trade talks regarding their former top pitching prospect.”

Miller still has plenty of time with the Dodgers, being under team control through 2029, and could fetch a solid price for the Dodgers — maybe a prospect or two — if they were to shop him around.
The Dodgers don’t especially need any major-league reinforcements at the moment, and the possibility of Miller fetching them a player at that level aren’t great with his recent performances.

Does Bobby Miller Fit With the Dodgers?
At the moment, the Dodgers have more than enough starting pitching, which would eliminate the possibility of Miller filling that role unless an injury disaster similar to last season happens again.
The Dodgers have a six-man rotation of Blake Snell, Shohei Ohtani, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Emmet Sheehan, Tyler Glasnow and Roki Sasaki set up, and also have River Ryan and Gavin Stone as potential options should L.A. lose someone.
The bullpen, though, is wide open.
While Miller isn’t a top choice for the bullpen at the moment after his struggles over the past couple of seasons, he could very well find a spot on the roster and in the ‘pen with a solid spring campaign and start to the season.
Outside of a few big names, such as Edwin Diaz, Tanner Scott and Jack Dreyer, there are plenty of spots Miller could take over as a reliever. Miller will report to Camelback Ranch in Arizona Feb. 13 and immediately look to make an impact on the Dodgers to make the Opening Day roster.
