Justin Wrobleski Doesn’t Have Locker in Dodgers Clubhouse Hinting at Roster Move
Left-handed pitcher Justin Wrobleski doesn’t have a locker in the Los Angeles Dodgers clubhouse ahead of Wednesday’s game, hinting at the team’s roster move.
The Dodgers have to call up right-handed pitcher Landon Knack to start Wednesday’s game. It appears Wrobleski is being sent down.
More news: Dodgers Shutting Down Blake Snell From Throwing For At Least One Week
Wrobleski was called up on Tuesday to take Blake Snell’s spot in the rotation after the left-hander was placed on the injured list with left shoulder inflammation. Wrobleski struggled Tuesday against the Washington Nationals, allowing eight hits and eight earned runs across five innings of work.
“For whatever reason today, the stuff just didn’t feel great,” Wrobleski said after the game. “Command wasn’t where it should be. It’s frustrating to have that kind of result when I’ve been throwing the ball so good. You just have to take the positives – if there are any – and keep moving.”
Before the game, manager Dave Roberts said Wrobleski would be a candidate to stay in the rotation for a few turns while Snell was out. However, after his struggles, that won’t be the case any longer.
“I just come up here and try to do my job,” Wrobleski said. “Whenever they give me the ball just continue to try to get better each outing. Get through this one. This one’s tough. It hurts. It sucks. When you’re a competitor you don’t want this to happen. But at the end of the day it’s just about doing your job when you’re called upon and today I didn’t do a good job of that.
“You’ve just always got to stay ready. I felt I did a good job of that but unfortunately came up today and had a tough outing. That’s baseball. That sucks. You don’t want it to happen but I clearly need to get better. I’m going to keep going and keep grinding like I have been and know that eventually the hard work is going to show.”
Knack will now likely get that opportunity to take Snell’s spot in the rotation. Snell is expected to miss at least a couple weeks due to his injury. He’s been shut down from throwing until next week.

Why no Tony Gonsolin? It was said here that he was getting some rehab starts in Las Vegas but we haven’t heard how he did. If he is good enough to throw rehab, and if that went well, then he is good enough to be back in the rotation where he belongs…
