The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Miami Marlins 6-2 on the back of an electric night from Kyle Tucker and Blake Snell for their eighth straight win.
The Dodgers, somewhat out of nowhere, got a major boost from Tucker, who has struggled at the plate overall.
Kyle Tucker’s big night
He finished the game going 3-for-3 with a sacrifice fly, along with a triple and a grand-slam home run.
The $60 million outfielder ended up being the difference for the Dodgers on a day where there was not too much offense. He drove in five runs, the literal gap between a win and a loss.
Additionally, Max Muncy, who has been going through a quiet slump, bounced back for a 3-for-4 night with a run scored and a walk as well.
The Dodgers only needed eight hits and five walks since they went 2-for-4 with runners in scoring position and left six runners on base.
Blake Snell dominates again
On the day, Snell left the game in the sixth inning with two outs and no runs allowed. His final line was four hits, two walks, and eight strikeouts for an outing that was ultimately great, but Evan Philips ended up allowing a run to cost Snell a scoreless outing.
The rest of the bullpen was shaky, giving up base runners via hits or walks in each of the next three innings, but they managed to close things off enough to let Tucker’s amazing offense lead the way.
Edgardo Henriquez closed the game, and while it was not a save opportunity, it was a big moment to get the last out with runners on first and second.
