Miguel Rojas Refutes Claims Dodgers are ‘Bad for Baseball’

Los Angeles Dodgers World Series hero Miguel Rojas strongly expressed his opinion on the idea that the Dodgers are bad for baseball.

The Dodgers have become a point of contention over the past couple of years due to their high spending and constant success. Calls for a salary cap and claims the Dodgers are ruining baseball are just a few things fans have thrown towards LA during the offseason, but Rojas disagrees with it all.

“The Dodgers are great for baseball,” Rojas said. “[Other teams are] trying to blame someone for their losses. We don’t have to justify anything. We’re not looking for approval. Everybody wants what we had the last two years.”

It’s hard to argue Rojas’ point, as the Dodgers have stood at the pinnacle of the baseball world for the last two seasons. It’d be impossible to find a fan who wouldn’t want the back-to-back World Series the Dodgers have won since 2024.

Which Other Players Have Defended the Dodgers?

Rojas isn’t the only player who thinks the Dodgers are good for the game, either. Former Dodger Manny Machado and All-Star Bryce Harper both spoke out in their favor.

“I love what the Dodgers do, obviously,” Harper said. “They pay the money, they spend the money, I mean they’re a great team. They run their team like a business, and they run it the right way. They understand where they need to put their money into, but also — people don’t look at this either — their draft and their development is unbelievable.

“They draft then they develop then they trade those guys for big name guys and they can spend the money. It bothers me when everybody talks about the Dodgers just spending money, no. They draft, they develop, they do it the right way.”

Machado’s message was shorter, but still got his point across.

“I f—ing love it,” Machado said of the Dodgers’ spending. “Every team should be doing it. …S— is f—ing great for the game. So I think every team has the ability to do it, so I hope all 30 teams can learn from that.”

The Dodgers haven’t concerned themselves with these kinds of talks throughout the offseason despite the constant buzz, and general manager Brandon Gomes explained it’s because their focus lies elsewhere.

“The validation is winning championships and putting out as good a team as we can each and every year,” Gomes said. “All we’re trying to do is get a little better each and every season with the goal of winning championships.
