Recently Traded Dodgers Reliever Sent from Yankees to Astros

Former Los Angeles Dodgers relief pitcher Caleb Ferguson has been traded from the New York Yankees to the Houston Astros. YES Network’s Jack Curry was first to report the news.

The Yankees will receive a minor leaguer and international pool money.

The lefty reliever was far from spectacular in his first season in New York, recording a 1-3 record with a 5.13 ERA, 41 strikeouts, and a 1.50 WHIP in 33.1 innings and 42 appearances. The former Dodger will now head to Houston, where he will look to find his groove.

As a Dodger, Ferguson was reliable and played some of his best baseball. He went 18-9 with a 3.43 ERA, 3.78 FIP, and a 1.28 WHIP in 207.1 innings pitched and 201 appearances. The Dodgers drafted the 28-year-old in the 38th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. The lefty reliever debuted in 2018 and was vital to the Dodgers’ success when in L.A.’ successes when in L.A.

Ferguson was traded from L.A. to New York in early Feb. in exchange for Matt Gage and Christian Zazueta. Ferguson holds a career 3.66 ERA and 288 strikeouts in 243 games.
