Shohei Ohtani Had Incredible 3-Word Message to Dodgers President After World Series Win
Shohei Ohtani accomplished more in his first season with the Los Angeles Dodgers than he did in parts of six seasons with the Los Angeles Angels.
Ohtani founded the 50/50 club when he stole his 50th base and launched his 50th home run and was a unanimous pick for the National League Most Valuable Player as a designated hitter. Oh yeah, he also won the World Series in his first trip to the postseason.
It was during the champagne-soaked celebration in the visitor’s clubhouse at Yankee Stadium when Dodgers president Stan Kasten realized just how important Ohtani is to the organization thanks to a three-word message.

“Talk about motivation. That night in Yankee Stadium in the clubhouse after we won, his first words to me were, ‘Nine more Stan. Nine more.’“
Ohtani signed his 10-year, $700 million deal with the Dodgers because he wanted to win.
The road to winning No. 2 begins March 18 when the Dodgers square off against the Chicago Cubs for two games in Tokyo, which is expected to be insane with tickets in high-demand.
The season-opener could be one of the most in-demand tickets in baseball history, with exhibition game entry starting at $900 and standing-room-only spots for the season opener exceeding $2,000 at the 55,000-seat stadium.
“The stadium doesn’t hold 100 million people,” Kasten told USA TODAY Sports, “which is approximately how many Japanese people would love to see Shohei and Yoshi and Roki. Everyone appreciates the historic significance unlike any other international adventure we’ve ever undertaken in baseball.
“We think the reception that this team, especially because of Shohei, Yoshi and Roki, it will feel the way our [World Series] parade felt every day we’re there.
“This is going to be off the charts.”

After the two-game series, the Dodgers will have three days off before facing the Angels in a three-game Freeway Series exhibition. They’ll then open their home schedule on March 27 against the Detroit Tigers.
