Shohei Ohtani Reveals When He’ll Return to Pitching For Dodgers

During the Dodgers FanFest, superstar Shohei Ohtani revealed when he believes he will return to pitch this season. The two-way star is still recovering from an elbow procedure before last season but is expected to return to the mound this year.

Ohtani spoke with our own Doug McKain about his plans.

“Hard to pinpoint when. Generally looking at a couple of weeks to a month of leeway. It will depend on how my first bullpen session will go.”

Getting Ohtani back into the mix could be a long process as he hasn’t pitched in well over a year. Los Angeles could take some caution with him to make sure that he is fully ready to get back onto the mound.

Ohtani mentioned that he is on track with his recovery process which is great news for the Dodgers. Los Angeles will be adding in a Cy Young caliber arm to their already strong starting rotation once Ohtani is ready to go.

While it remains to be seen when Ohtani will take the mound for the first time in a Dodgers uniform, it seems that it could happen within the first few months of the year. The Dodgers front office has built up a strong pitching staff so the team will be well equipped to handle themsleves until the star can resume his place on the mound.
