It may be fall and it may be October, but it seems summer is not done with us yet.
Temperatures are expected to be in a triple digits this weekend and for a good chunk of next week, so stay cool and hydrated — especially if you’re at Dodger Stadium for Games 1 and 2 of the National League Division Series against the Atlanta Braves.
If you’re looking for things to do outside of the Dodgers, though, take a look at our roundup of some highlights below.
ComplexCon
When: Saturday, Oct. 3 and Sunday, Oct. 4, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where: Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St., Los Angeles, CA 90015

The 10th annual ComplexCon is back in LA, bringing together the biggest names and most influential voices across fashion, music, art, food and culture,” Complex said in a news release.
“Over two days, attendees can expect exclusive drops from 300+ brands, major collaborations and launches, immersive activations, live conversations, the Family Style Food Festival and more, all under one roof,” the company added.
The two-day fest also includes a variety of prominent figures from sports, music, fashion, food and more.
Highlights include appearances from USC basketball star JuJu Watkins, performances by Ken Carson and Playboi Carti, and live discussions called ComplexCon(versations).
Those discussions include topics like album of the year with DJ Akademiks, French Montana and Adam22 and sneaker of the year with Jo La Puma, Rich Paul, Lil Yachty, Breeana Walker, Shannon Sharpe and Matt Welty.
Tickets start at about $80 and can be purchased here.
Oktoberfest at Red Lion Tavern
When: All month long
Where: 2366 Glendale Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90039
There’s plenty of places in Southern California to celebrate Oktoberfest, and if you’re looking for options, Gillian Glover of TimeOut Los Angeles put together a great selection of spots.
A personal favorite for some on the Dodgers Nation staff, though, is the Red Lion Tavern in Silver Lake.
There are special deals on pints and platters of food, as well as themed activities like stein-holding contests.
The winner of those contests gets Red Lion merch, a special stein, and even free beer for a $100 gift card.
The contest is held each Saturday at 3 p.m., though if you’re busy with the Dodgers this weekend, they also hold the contest at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays.
But if you’re looking to combine your Dodgers fandom and this seasonal celebration, the tavern will broadcast all Dodgers playoff games on big screens with sound, which the tavern said will pair nicely with big beers with brats.
No matter what you choose to do this weekend, stay cool, stay hydrated and have fun. Go Dodgers!
