Halloween is next weekend, so if you’re looking to get into the spirit of spooky season, now is the time.
We here at Dodgers Nation have a fun suggestion for those looking to celebrate, as well as some alternatives in downtown Los Angeles and Santa Monica.
Drunk Dracula
When: 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. most days, check website for availability
Where: 1623 N. Cahuenga Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90028
Vampires are a Halloween classic, and this humorous take on the genre involves some fun twist.
In this show, an actor — a different one every night — takes five shots of liquor, then works with four sober actors to put on “Dracula,” but don’t be too put off if you haven’t read the book.
“No homework required. If you know that vampires and drinking exist, you’re caught up,” organizers said. “The jokes are modern, the references are pop culture, and the plot stays as clear as it can after 5 shots of whiskey.”
Tickets start at $43, but you can pay more for more immersive and higher-end experiences.
For the VIP royal experience, for instance, you’re served Champagne, caviar and cocktails in luxury seating on a throne, and you have “the power to stop the show.”
