Things to Do in LA This Weekend: March Madness, Venice Love Fest, Butterfly Pavilion & More

Spring is in the air, so there are so many outdoor events happening around Los Angeles this weekend. From the Venice Love Fest that unites the community and celebrates music and art to the inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic with Tom Brady, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Community Events & Festivals

Venice Love Fest 2026

Date: Saturday, March 21, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Location: Venice Beach Boardwalk – 80 Windward Ave, Venice, CA 90291

This is a free community event that will celebrate music, art, wellness, food, shopping and local culture at the iconic Venice Beach Boardwalk. You can enjoy fitness and wellness classes, art installations and live entertainment at this event. Venice Love Fest is also a dog-friendly event.

César Chávez Family Day

Date: Sunday, March 22 from noon to 4 p.m.

Location: LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes – 501 N Main St, Los Angeles, CA 90012

This is a celebration of activist and labor leader, César Chávez, and his fight for farm labor rights from the 1960s through 1980s. Families can enjoy live music while also learning about the history of farm labor rights through various workshops. If you participate and receive a stamp for at least four workshops, you will be entered in a book giveaway.

Palisades Renewal Celebration

Date: Sunday, March 22 from 3 p.m. to Sunset

Location: Palisades Charter High School – 15777 Bowdoin St, Pacific Palisades, CA 90272

The Palisades Renewal Celebration is a community gathering to celebrate the progress the city has made since the devastating wildfires in January 2025. Community members will join to enjoy live music and performances from local artists. There will also be a lantern ceremony at the end of the event.

Springtime Events

Butterfly Pavilion Opening Weekend

Date: Starts Sunday, March 22

Location: Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County – 900 Exposition Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90007

The Natural History Museum is officially reopening its seasonal Butterfly Pavilion on Sunday. Walk around and admire the beautiful butterflies and native plants in the exhibition all spring long!

Goats & Totes

Date: Saturday, March 21 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: Ivy Station – 8840 National Blvd, Culver City, CA 90232

Party Goats LA will be heading to Ivy Station this weekend for a fun pop-up event where you can meet adorable goats and design your own tote bag. This is a free event on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Bunny at The Bloc

Date: Saturday, March 21 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Location: The Bloc – 750 W 7th St, Los Angeles, CA, 90017

Get your photo taken with The Bunny this weekend at The Bloc shopping center. In addition to complimentary family and pet photos, some stores are participating in an egg hunt, and there will be lots of arts & crafts to participate in. This is a perfect and free family event!

Kasso Fest Skate & Sound

Date: Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22

Location: Old City Hall Plaza & Lincoln Park – 333 W. Ocean Blvd., Long Beach, CA 90802

The Japanese skating show Kasso is coming to Long Beach.

Organizers describe it as “a next-level event where skateboarding, music, art, and apparel collide into one explosive KASSO experience!”

Sports

Fanatics Flag Football Classic

Date: Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.

Location: BMO Stadium – 3939 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90037

Seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is returning to the field for the first time since retiring from the NFL in the inaugural Fanatics Flag Football Classic on Saturday. He will be joined by other NFL stars and Team USA Football players. This event is a flag football competition between three, 12-person teams.

NCAA Tournament: UCLA vs. Cal Baptist

Date: Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m.

Location: Pauley Pavilion – 301 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095

No. 1 seed UCLA women’s basketball will begin its battle for a national championship on Saturday in the first round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Bruins will be going head-to-head with a down-the-road opponent in No. 16 seed Cal Baptist at Pauley Pavilion.

Los Angeles Kings vs. Buffalo Sabres

Date: Saturday, March 21 at 1 p.m.

Location: Crypto.com Arena – 1111 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90015

The LA Kings are hosting Kids Day Out in partnership with Six Flags Magic Mountain on Saturday. This will be a family-friendly event with lots of entertainment to enjoy.
