Summer is rolling on here in Southern California, and if you’re looking for some fun things to do this weekend, we here at Dodgers Nation have you covered.

US Open of Surfing
When: Through Sunday, Aug. 2
Where: 315 Pacific Coast Highway, Huntington Beach, CA 92648
Some of the best surfers in the world are in Huntington Beach this week for the US Open of Surfing, which runs through Sunday.
Head on out to see elite athletes tackle big waves and catch big air in their quest to win the tournament.
Additionally, the event puts on some fun concerts at the beach.
On Saturday, Real Estates and the Allah-Las will take the stage.
On Sunday, performers are Local Natives and Arcy Drive.

Ventura County Fair
When: From noon to 11 p.m. through Aug. 9
Where: Ventura County Fairgrounds, 10 E. Harbor Blvd., Ventura, CA 93001
The fair is back, with this weekend’s highlights including Youth Day on Friday and the Ventura County Cattlemen’s Association Ranch Riding Buckle Show on Saturday.
Sunday is Dia de la Familia at the Fair.
Musical performers this weekend include Iration on Friday, Jake Owen on Saturday and Herencia de Patrones ft. Banda Maguey and Banda Toro on Sunday.
Friday and Saturday’s concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday’s show starts at 3 p.m.
There’s also a lot of new food and drink items at the Fair, including a Red Bull slushie, Buffalo chicken grilled cheese, udon noodle bowls, pastrami fries and maple bourbon pickles.

Afro Latino Culture Fest
When: Saturday, Aug. 1, from 4 to 10 p.m.
Where: LA Plaza De Cultura y Artes, 501 N. Main St., Los Angeles, California, 90012
The Afro-Latino Education and Arts Collective is presenting the fourth annual Afro-Latino Culture Fest on Saturday.
“Celebrate the richness of Afro-Latino and Caribbean culture through music, food, art, and community,” organizers said on the event’s website. “Enjoy authentic dishes from local food vendors, tropical cocktails, artisan goods, and community resources available throughout the day.”
Organizers added that the event is family friendly, and “there will be free activities for kids and plenty of experiences for all ages to enjoy together.”
“Come experience a day filled with culture, connection, and creativity as we honor the vibrant traditions and stories of the Afro-Latino community at LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes,” they wrote.
