Tommy Edman Wins NLCS MVP as Dodgers Advance to World Series
Tommy Edman wasn’t on the Los Angeles Dodgers roster three months ago. Now, he’s an NLCS MVP.
Edman was officially named the Most Valuable Player of the National League Championship Series as the Dodgers took down the New York Mets, 10-5, to win Game 6 and advance to the 2024 World Series.

Edman put on a show in the NLCS, going 11-for-27 (.407) with a home run and 11 runs batted in.
Edman, 29, was acquired by the Dodgers at this year’s trade deadline in a three-team deal that also brought Michael Kopech to Los Angeles. The Dodgers traded Miguel Vargas, Alexander Albertus, and Jeral Perez in the deal.
Edman hadn’t played this year with the St. Louis Cardinals as he recovered from offseason wrist surgery. He finally made his Dodgers and 2024 debut on Aug. 19.
Overall in the regular season, Edman hit .237 with six home runs, 20 RBIs and an OPS of .711. In mid-September against the Chicago Cubs, Edman had four home runs in a two-game span.
While Edman was solid in the regular season, showing off his versatility in the infield and outfield, he’s been invaluable in the postseason.
Edman has appeared in all 11 games, and is hitting .341 with four extra-base hits, 12 RBIs, and an OPS of .810.
Edman now has his first career postseason MVP award, and played a key role in the Dodgers getting back to the World Series for the first time since 2020. Edman will look to continue to lead L.A. as they take on the Yankees, beginning Friday night.
