Tweets Of The Night: Scott Van Slyke Walks Off, Dodgers Win 5-3
The Dodgers bats showed up in a big way last night as they hit six home runs against the Diamondbacks, including a three home run performance from third baseman Juan Uribe.
Lost in shuffle was starter Ricky Nolasco, who picked up his eighth win as a Dodger and further solidified himself as the acquisition of the trade season. The win not only lowered the magic number to eight, but eliminated the hated Giants and Rockies from winning the NL West.
Tonight, Edinson Volquez will start for the first time at Dodger Stadium against Trevor Cahill, who is 5-0 in his career against the Dodgers. Volquez wasn’t especially impressive in his first start at Coors Field, but at pitcher friendly Chavez Ravine, better results were expected.
Let’s get to the tweets of the night:
#Dodgers win, 5-3. It's the Dodgers' 7th walkoff win of the season and Van Slyke's first walkoff hit. His jersey has been shredded.
